College/Young Career

Adulting is hard.

I don't say that to be flippant. Transitioning from kid to adult is really difficult. You are right in the midst of figuring out what it's like to be on your own, what it means to be an adult with adult responsibilities. You may be worried about finding a career that is meaningful to you. Going to college and working full time is taking a toll on your mental health. You feel so much pressure to perform, excel, and do something important with your life. Your parents may be pressuring you to go to school, but you really just want to take a few years off and figure things out. You may be struggling with partying a little too hard, relationship problems, and trying to cope with an enormous amount of stress. Life is tough right now. And honestly, sometimes, you might even think about ending your life altogether. You are not alone. There are millions of young adults struggling just like you.

Anxiety & Depression

You might be working, going to school, contributing to your household income, or watching younger siblings. You may want to move out on your own but can't imagine ever being able to afford the financial cost. Maybe your family life is awful, but you feel trapped. All of these pressures are adding up. Your heart races, you have trouble sleeping, and you can't stop worrying about the future. Or maybe you feel sad or numb all the time and don't even want to hang out with friends anymore. You don't talk to anyone about it because you don't want to be a downer, and they wouldn't understand anyway. Let's discuss the problem. Sometimes, just talking about it lightens the load. I use techniques that will help ease your immediate symptoms. Then we'll dive in to some of the causes that are contributing to the symptoms and work to heal them once and for all.

Relationships

You are figuring out what you want in life (and what you don't want), and matching that to a partner's dreams and wishes can be difficult. You may find yourself in an abusive or codependent relationship that ends up with you feeling like a shell of who you once were. You may have been sexually violated, and even though what the other person did was reprehensible, you are the one left to carry the shame and regret. Whatever your sexual identity and orientation, even in the best of times, romantic partnerships can be a challenge. You and I will work together first on self-worth, self-love, and letting go of shame. Then we will discover what you truly want and deserve in a relationship. If there is trauma or codependency, we will work to heal those issues, so you can be free to give and receive love.

Purpose

You know you don't want to sit in an office from 9-5, five days a week, performing meaningless tasks that drain your spirit and make you dread going to work. You want something more. You want something meaningful that will feed your soul and contribute to humanity. You want to leave the world a better place. But you either have no idea what you want to do or a vague goal in mind but no concrete plan to get there. Let's work together to discover where your talents, your passions, and your personality intersect to form that brilliant concept: purpose.
